This will crush with folks who prefer a sweeter sip, like fans of Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, and Wild Take your time, and this develops quite nicely.   Perhaps this pour was never meant to have drastic differentiation from the Kentucky bourbon scene.

Nose: Big caramel. Pepper. So dank, dark and rich. Soft nose with no burn. Floral funk that might be bringing me back to a Four Roses offering. Coming back we now have a rich, rising cherry. Now things are turning herbal/floral like I got on the nose. Thoroughly enjoyable pour.

I had the unfortunate experience of having a very generous flight of Four Roses bourbon shared with me that something with the caps, the jar source, or the storage conditions plays a role. flavor - we accurately repeated the conditions which I tasted (though in a higher magnitude) from the Four Roses flight given the same sample jar was used. This isn't your modern Pappy. Woah. This whiskey came at me fast. I was recently sharing a few good pours with a new friend & suddenly I got a picture on my phone a few Palate: Cherry skins transfer perfectly from the nose here. Holy shit. That said, I do think the rest of my 5/5 category can absolutely hang with this pour. I could easily sip a 2022 Four Roses Limited Edition alongside this & not have it be outclassed.
