  • Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish Barrel Strength Rye Review

Mash Bill Percentages: Undisclosed Proof: 109.2° Age: NAS Further identification: Barrel No 20G1711 Nose Malty nose; smells like this is going to be heavy and syrupy. The citrus has been a constant, but the parts of this pour that I really enjoy are so fleeting. A rollercoaster pour to say the least. The nose is really fun but I am always left confused on tastings. Rating: 3/5

  • Booker’s Head to Head - Little Book Chapter 1 through 4

Nose is really balanced though, falling almost too bland. Dusty oak, citrus/Pinesol note I love, chocolate and sweet fruit like strawberry cereal on nose. So good I went for a second glass of this; second pour: Vanilla, spice and fruit immediately on nose. , slight cherry nose. Pepper. Way better mouth feel than nose.

  • Cream of Kentucky 12.3 Year Bourbon Review

Smooth citrus sweetness is delightful on the first nose. It's like a lemon vanilla frosting. This is a very crisp and bright pour on the nose. Post-sip the nose does not drastically change with more grass, oak and perhaps a touch more malt. Super vegetal and funky now on the tail end of my pour. This really screams 12 year Beam to me. This pour had quite the arc of flavors throughout it.

Do our notes agree? Company on Label: James B. and 5 year Kentucky straight bourbon; it is listed as recipe 063 and it was commingled by Freddie Noe Nose With a little resting the nose returns to a malty caramel. Faint maple spice dances. This pour benefits from time and patience & I’d definitely want people to give it a few tries before This pour definitely started a bit underwhelming, but it ended up quite complex and unique.

  • All 5 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Releases Ranked - The Best of the 2022 BTAC Whiskeys

At face value this seems very much like your classic bourbon profile - one you might be able to easily If you take your time with this one it will prove that it has plenty to go around in the flavor department puts it just ahead of William Larue, though I think I'd give Monsieur Larue the nod for the better nose Nosing the empty glass here could keep me entertained for hours. #4 - Thomas H. I certainly wouldn't turn my nose from trying it again & will hopefully include it in some blind flights

  • 2024 Michter's 10 Year Bourbon Review—An Examination of the Only Constant in Whiskey: Change.

We therefore should be considerate as we discuss our experiences with single barrels, something I've mileage may vary; the bottle under review came from barrel 24F2384 Nose:  Immediately upon lifting the Another long inhale is surprisingly muted, leaving me feeling a bit perplexed about this pour, as I'm Palate:  On first sip, the sad story of the nose is momentarily displaced as I find soft red berries I really am actually struggling to enjoy this pour, unfortunately, as some of the apple cider vinegar

  • Barrell Single Barrel Kappy's Store Pick Bourbon Review

fun batches of bourbon & rye, there hasn't been anything from them that I've been able to turn down a pour That said, I go into every pour with a challenging and inquisitive mind. I love it, but it definitely does not nose like a bourbon at the start! The pre-sip nose seems to have run it's course, so let's give this a taste. Some light chamomile tea flavors dance along late in the pour, as some lemon juice and honey drizzle

  • Old Soul High Rye Single Barrel Bourbon Review

This one stays very mellow and sweet on the early nose. Still altogether very sweet and creamy forward on the nose. The candied banana note is also here on the palate, but it is not your typical Brown-Forman banana; it's This pour does start to get spicier as things go on, now with a medley of flavors that reminds me somewhat Rating: 3/5 Really solid evolution to this pour.

  • Pinhook Bohemian Bourbon Review

identification: This is the lower proof version of Bohemian Bourbon from 2020; it features an orange label/wax Nose The nose is definitely more fun & enjoyable than the palate, but whiskey is meant to be drank so I tend : Thin syrupy swish to start things out produces a cloud of strawberry and the same cherry from the nose Maybe a good pour for someone newer to whiskey, but this is a unique offering that is just not for me

  • Blue Run Holiday Cask Strength Rye Whiskey Review

I'm looking forward to tasting through this one tonight, it feels like a good pour given the setting Holiday, Date 11/02/21, Bottle 1423 of 2604; this is the cask strength version of Golden Rye release Nose : Immediately there is a whammy of maple sugar upfront on the nose, followed by a soft wave of grill The nosing experience is quite mellow with nothing overpowering ever reaching the edges of the glass. Coming back from the palate there is a great silky, creamy nose-feel that continues to persist and build

  • Michter's Single Barrel Straight Rye Review

Did you know, these signature labels on the neck of Michter's bottles are a fun identifier for where your Dull oak falls a little flat on the nose. Not my favorite nose on a rye, but I also like more spice & intensity, whereas this is mellow & sweet Like the nose, there is both a creamy & chalky characteristic to the mouth coating. We may have to go for a barrel strength rye as a follow up pour to this one...

Cheers!
