- Hirsch Selected Whiskeys - Cask Strength Bourbon Finished in Cognac Casks - Full Review
The clear parallels to my love for Willett make this a pour I find myself reaching for often. On the nose, it offers notes of dusty cherry and charred citrus with a palate of over ripe stone fruit Citrus, cinnamon and funk rise up well - hallmarks of the Bardstown, KY distillate. Creamy, delectable and complete upon returning my nose to the glass. Palate: Goodness that is quite effervescent as your first sip of the day.

- Willett Family Estate #2015 - 7 Year Bourbon Review
Anyway - this is another great pour courtesy of Matt - appreciate you sharing my friend. : Upfront I find a lot of breadiness and a touch of caramel on the nose. It comes off very bright without any of the nose-sting that usually comes with spices. Sage, rosemary and black pepper are the few that come to mind from that experience. Yum. I love a neat pour that can do that.

I paid for all of these pours, but was sent home with a sample of the bar's Old Forester Single Barrel It's not at all what I was expecting out of my first pour of these. It comes and goes. Best nose of the 3. Palate: Proofy caramel. Spicy baking spices. Definitely a good dessert pour. Only slightly shorter finish than 13. Sour mash gives it a good bit of marshmallow sweetness.

It's my favorite sharing whiskey. : Gobs of cherry proliferate on the early nose immediately after pouring.
