- Willett 8 Year Wheated Bourbon Review - The Infamous Black Bottle "Purple Top"
Everyone's budget is different, so take the evaluation of the whiskey and apply your own 'value' lens If a good whiskey is out of your price range, there are plenty of other 5/5 ratings for you to read : Corn fritters jump out of the well-rested glass upon first lifting it to my nose. Nosing deeper, I find darker tones of raspberry skins, raisin, and dry oak. Coming back to the nose shows off subtle barrel funk and more caramel tones.
- Willett Family Estate #8147 - Dion's Single Barrel - 8 Year Bourbon Review
nose-blind at every attempt. Think parsley, thyme, rosemary and sage in an intricate introductory wave as if you've just stepped in It's as if you've had a bottle of red wine with dinner and you're just now aware that your teeth may be stained as you search nervously with your tongue. This distillate, these flavors, and the pours that also have previously ranked at a 5 are all present
- Michter’s Barrel Strength Toasted Barrel Rye Review
I fight with this pour. When I try to sit down for tasting notes it feels like it loses some of it's magic. Syrupy funk similar to the sweetness of Michter's toasted barrel sour mash. Right nose stings a bit, left nose highlights creamy caramel. Sweet lemon glaze. Some cardboard and pepper are parting gifts of this wild pour.
- Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered Batch 63 Bourbon Review
This feels like a bit of an older blend on the first nose. Dried dates and an herbal plum. This has a great funk to it on the nose I always enjoy; similar to what I dig about Booker's batches. Thick, salty caramel rises up from my chest long after the sip. It's amazing what a little temperature change can do to a pour. Honey now is quite sweet! Rating: 4/5 Solid pour!
- Wild Turkey Master's Keep Triumph Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Review - Elegance & Refinement in the Era of the Rye Renaissance
Triumph is an exceptional chapter in our Master’s Keep story. It's just lovely in the nose. Don't go into this pour expecting a tidal wave of volume. Be mindful of your perception of quality if you choose to do so, as higher proof pours may be yelling Nougat, caramel, and more traditional barrel funk dominate in the nose.
- Un-Gnome Whiskey: A Mystery Blind Review #3
Nose: Some immediate unique fruit to my nose. Like peach? Citrus. Grapefruit kind of zesty twang. Nose has settled into a dusty, dry oak. I can't find much more in the way of complexity; it's a nice profile, but doesn't have layers after hours Surprising earthy rye spices compared to the fruity nose. Big sour fruit note that falls out of a ball of sweet ethanol.
- Old Forester Barrel Strength Single Barrel Bourbon Review
Depot Store Pick; this sample was provided to me from bourbondipity_ on Instagram in a sample swap Nose Well in hand in the proof department, this noses like a sweet flower. Nose is turning into a creamy caramel which will always be a welcome note to me. The allspice and caramel transferred very well from nose to palate. The heat that rises on a good sip is slow moving; rolling across the tongue with the pace & intensity

Nc’nean founder and CEO, Annabel Thomas comments: “This dram perfectly encapsulates our creativity, innovation Its origins trace back to our master distiller, Jim Swan, who played a pivotal role in developing what : Upon lifting the glass to my nose, I'm immediately met with some classic malt tones such as sugar It's a distinctly light spirit in the nose, dancing playfully in a comfortable wave, like a gossamer Returning from a sip I find a warm cast iron wood stove lit to stave off winter's cold pouring in.
- Peerless Small Batch Bourbon Review
years Further identification: The bottle states this is NCF; I likely purchased this some time in 2020 Nose Vanilla extract with a slight sting on the nose. Dusty, nice older oak is present. Someone who is a fan of tobacco flavors would certainly adore nosing this for a long time. Citrus zest and rye spice rise quickly through the mouth, followed by a drying old oak.
- Booker’s 2021-01 Donohoe’s Batch Bourbon Review
2021-01 Donohoe's Batch comes bearing a light blue label in a wooden box with a batch information card Nose A hint of dry hot chocolate mix and a bit of smoke lightly stings the nose. Nose: Hot cherry gets dropped into a spicy pool of allspice, lemongrass and caramel. A rising rush of thick caramel carries a hint of orange peel in the finish.
- I Tasted the 18-Year Bourbon from Calumet Farm: Here's What I Found in This Centennial Release
"This Centennial Collection captures our commitment to excellence in every bottle - from our oldest and highest-proof bourbons to our very first rye." Oak is the foundation of this nose, peppery and effervescent. As I continue to nose patiently, I begin to appreciate the rhythm and flow of this pour. While it drank hotter than the nose suggested, I ended up rounding up my rating after trying a pour with
