About

Born in the early 90s as Nicholas Paul Anderson, 'Amongst' has always been a bit of a nerd. The son of a carpenter and an artist/musician, his life has intersected many passions, from the hands-on to the ephemeral. His early life experience of installing roofing quickly pushed him towards career paths that might utilize the brain more than the body. Being a gifted learner, Nick excelled in his education, which allowed him to explore the things that inspire his passion. Some of those passions he's found in the many magical moments in the great outdoors: hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping, all of which were instilled from his time in Scouting. As a natural introvert, spending time outdoors is his ultimate recharge. He loves folk music, staring into campfires, misty cool weather, and sharing good whiskey with good people. Today, Nick is an impassioned product development manager, bringing complex medical devices to market to help improve the lives of those with diabetes. He's truly one of the weird ones who adores Mondays, never shies away from a challenge, and lives to solve problems. You will often find him wearing a hat, singing (poorly), being goofy, or nerding out over something in a small sidebar conversation. He wholeheartedly believes anything worth doing is worth overdoing and will invest every ounce of his being in perfecting whatever he's set his mind to.

Stagg release crossed over the threshold beyond the magic hazmat number, I knew I had to track one down. While the bourbon hunt was a little slower to produce this year, the generosity of the whiskey community turned up strong. My dear friend Matt Long, also known as @rarewhiskeynomad or "Hazzmatty," sent along a sample for review. Matt runs an incredible community called The...

Stagg Jr Bourbon Batch 25B Review—A Journey Through Flavor
“If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.” – Anatole France What do you do when one of your favorite local liquor stores has a bottle of Stagg Junior hiding in plain sight? First, you confirm it's available for sale at a reasonable price, and then you pop it with the folks at the shop, of course! That's exactly what I did with my friends over at Curtis Liquors in Weymouth, MA when I found this batch 25B hiding in the lockup case. With the foil peeled and cork popped, we were...

Stagg Jr Batch 25C Bourbon Review: Which 2025 Batches Are Worth Hunting?
“The wise are instructed by reason, average minds by experience, the stupid by necessity, and the brute by instinct.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero If you are on the hunt for Stagg this year, you have come to the right place. I have had the good fortune of trying most of the existing Stagg Jr. releases through the years and regularly recalibrate my ratings against previous batches. You'll find my full power ranking at the Stagg Hub , your one-stop shop for all things Stagg Jr. and George T. Stagg....
