The youthful banana is ever present from the high malt characteristic (similar to younger Old Elk bourbons Rating: 2/5 (Not good... Doesn't please my palate.)

There's a distinct dusty characteristic to the oak that is definitely unique in its own right - not the There's a touch of a lychee characteristic and it comes across quite juicy on the nose. find anything but tradition; the vanilla in the oak is laced with orange marmalade and a rich, bready characteristic Late in the glass I find rich caramel, hints of milk chocolate, and an ashy characteristic like a finished Lovely atypical citrus characteristics on this.

usual, I've triangulated a minimum of 3 experiences total before sitting down and giving this a proper rating Chewing on this a bit highlights the hefty oak characteristics alongside graham cracker, cinnamon and Rating: 4/5 (Really good; I want one of these on my shelf.) I dig it.

Rating: 5/5 (Just wow. One of my favorites.) It has characteristics that remind me of whiskeys that were on the market in the late 80s and early 90s

glass is very much a buck from the norm of bourbon sweetness & it has taken on a lot of interesting characteristics Rating: This one's a winner!

Late in the glass some great barrel funk returns, nearly touching upon some of the same characteristics I wish the glass maintained the lemon forward characteristics it started with, but I'm ultimately still Rating: 4/5 (Really good; I want one of these on my shelf.)

I continue to beat my nose against this wall of dusty, bright characteristics but it keeps turning me Rating: 5/5 Though this one falls just short of a true 'wow' factor whiskey for me, I did completely While I wouldn't put this in my top 5: this definitely earns a 'Keep Amongst the Whiskey' rating from I really tossed and turned between the 5 rating here, writing it and scribbling it out in digital form

The palate exhibits none of the same characteristics as the nose was putting off. Rating: 3/5 (Decent. I can go either way on it.) The subtle notes I disliked about this review above are all gone, and my post-rating notes were prophesized I'd consider the post-oxidation review of this bottle to be more akin to a 4/5 rating, though your mileage

Returning from a sip I find wet clay, rattan and a light varnish characteristic. Rating: 3/5 (Decent. I can go either way on it.) similar picks, clearly tasted things they didn't like in their palate & finish sections, yet they still rated I am wholeheartedly against all the every-decimal-that's-close-to-ten rating scales and hope you enjoy my scale which puts the middle of the road whiskeys right where they belong - in the middle of the rating

On deep inhales there is a sugary tiramisu characteristic. Time for a sip! Mmm. I find star fruit, juicy pear and lychee that borders on a tannic quality without the bitter characteristic Rating: 5/5 (Just wow. One of my favorites.)

Sipping near the bottom of the glass I find more red fruit mixed with citrus characteristics. Rating: 2/5 (Not good... Doesn't please my palate.) I'm thoroughly surprised and disappointed to have to rate one of my favorite batched bourbon releases The citrus characteristic is enjoyable and the mint backbone is mostly gone.
